Strange Illustrations
The Story
I worked with pen and ink for most of my twenties (that's my happy place), but I slowly expanded over the years with watercolor, acrylic, oils, and now finally gouache. I've wanted to create cute, fun pieces of art for a long time, and I've finally put together a little portfolio. More artwork coming soon!
I've always dreamed of painting illustrations for children's books and I had all these great ideas in my head for years, but I never put them to paper. This year I decided I needed to take it seriously or let it go.

So I gave up. Haha just kidding, I locked in. I sketched, I schemed, I threw away a lot of practice paintings. But slowly I found my style and I found what I loved to paint. I love silly little characters in pretty little worlds, accidental mischief, and plenty of magic.
I started painting with gouache at the beginning of this year and fell in LOVE. It's transformed my art and gave me the ease to try new things and learn to trust my color instincts. Read more about my journey this year here at this blog post.

These illustrations will be updated as I add new ones - I hope you enjoy!

"Please Let Me In"
A house on a distant planet where the sun never rises. I can hear the wind in the soft grasses, the party going on inside, the world I'll never truly be invited to. The path is clearly marked, but it was never meant for me.

"The Waiting Room"
The girl is waiting, blindfolded in a doctor's waiting room. Or is it even for a doctor? The eerie wall art, flowers, cozy couch, and rugs suggest
something closer to a funeral home.
