Hi! I'm back!
Yes, it's been a while. My last post was in 2021 - isn't that wild? Since then, I did IVF and had a beautiful little daughter named Winter (that was a whole journey). Shortly after, I had a surprise addition to the family: little Everest! So now I have a two-toddler household which can get pretty wild...
But I've never stopped working.

When I was pregnant with Winter, I got a wonderful idea for a book called The Crossing. I wrote it while I was on maternity leave with her, and finished editing it by the time I had my boy, Everest.
Last summer, I queried agents and signed with Jenissa Graham at BookEnds Literary Agency! It's been a wild ride. I'm still hoping there's a wonderful agent out there that falls in love with The Crossing.

Until then, I'm working on all my other projects. (There are plenty.)
Having toddlers has definitely made progress take longer, but I also think it's made me appreciate the time I have with my books and my paints.
My goals have changed a little. I'm not really interested in trying to make a living from my fine artwork. I'm working to enjoy what I do, learn valuable skills, and find a way to express myself genuinely (sounds easier than it really is). I want my work to scream me, I want to express those deep, terrible, wonderful things I can't put into words, and I want to hopefully add some value to other peoples' lives along the way.
I've spent years working on my craft, and now I'm ready to explore how far I can push myself and what I can make. While I've been gone, I've learned how to use gouache, oil paint, and have been diligently working on a graphic novel called Starlit Bog.

I've written two more books (#IcySweet and #OracleWIP) that are my glorious headaches that I love so dearly haha. I've decided it's time for me to work on creating a portfolio that includes short stories (The Fluttering and Containment) and illustrations that push my skills and talents to new limits.
I will post more about all the shenanigans I've been up to, but in the meantime:
Hi :) It's nice to be back here in my little safe space. And it's nice to talk to you again.
And if you're thinking about creating something, no matter how small, do it. Do it do it do it. If can get back to this journey, you can too. It's never about the quality; it's about the act of creation itself. We find ourselves in the making.
Ta!
